Thesis topic (for postgraduates) Ancient Correspondence and English Government: Henry III and Edward I
Current research interests "Practical literacy" among lay people, especially in C13. (Including people who used text to communicate, not only the physical producers of texts). How men and women used writing differently; whether different languages were considered appropriate for different types of communication. Administration and government in high medieval England.

Other relevant information I am a member of the Graduate Student Committee (GSC) of The Medieval Academy of America,and am always available to answer questions or provide support to graduate members of the Academy, or anyone who may have questions about membership. Graduate students around the world receive discounted Academy membership, which includes a personal subscription to Speculum and access to various travel awards. The GSC also manages an email list for contact and collaboration among graduates in Medieval Studies worldwide. I encourage everyone to consider joining.
