This is the home page for the NEER Research Cluster entitled "Cathedral, Court, City and Cloister: Western Music and its Sources 1100-1750".
This Cluster aims to raise the profile of Australian scholarship into early European music through conference presentations, symposia, publication and training. In particular, it will address ways in which documentary materials (musical and liturgical manuscripts, archival documents, letters, church/state/city documents and so on) can lead to new interpretations and understandings of musical cultures and practices.

I'm just writing my annual report for the ARC, and I need a statement on what your cluster sets out to do. This will double as the statement for the glossy NEER brochure, and can also be placed at the head of this page for everyone to see what your cluster is about.
Thanks.

All we need, for Confluence readers, for the annual report and for the forthcoming brochure that I mentioned to you in my emai before Easter, is a brief summary of around 80 words describing the aims of your cluster. If you look at some of the other cluster statements you will see the kind of thing we need.
And congratulations on getting this little conversation up and running.
